Bold & Beautiful's Darin Brooks Discusses 'Restless' Wyatt and Sally: "I'm Here to Mess Things Up"

 

Bold & Beautiful fans are feeling disappointed about the departure of one of their beloved Spencer men, Wyatt. However, there might be a silver lining to ease the sting of his exit – if the character were to appear on the sister soap, Young & Restless!

Wyatt hasn't been in the forefront of Bold & Beautiful for quite some time. Over the past year or more, he has only been seen in scenes as a supporting character to his father Bill and his brother Liam. The engagement between Wyatt and Flo was abruptly dropped as a storyline, and it wasn't even mentioned in dialogue. This seemed odd considering the soap's efforts to redeem and integrate Flo, even going as far as making her a Logan through the late Storm. However, considering how unpopular Flo remained with fans, it's not surprising that the character disappeared. Unfortunately, this left Wyatt without a clear direction.

This week, Darin Brooks made a return after a prolonged absence to facilitate his character's exit. Wyatt called Bill to his beach house, which surprised viewers as Taylor had previously bought the place from Bill while hoping for a future with Ridge. However, a slight adjustment to the writing revealed that Taylor had only been renting the house.

During their conversation, Wyatt told Bill that he was seeking a change and would be leaving not only the beach house but Los Angeles as well.

Soap opera fans often become attached to their favorite characters, and Wyatt is no exception. Bold & Beautiful viewers immediately began speculating whether Brooks and his character might appear elsewhere – specifically, on sister soap Young & Restless in Genoa City, where Wyatt's ex-fiancée currently resides. This speculation was fueled by a bonus scene where Bill referred to Wyatt as "restless" – an intriguing choice of words.

Although Wyatt and Sally's relationship ended messily, with her faking a terminal illness and kidnapping his girlfriend, Flo, it's possible for them to move on. Sally is also involved with someone in Genoa City, Adam Newman, whom many consider her soulmate. With her relationship with Nick in the past and a smooth path ahead for "Ally," it could be the perfect time for new complications for the couple.

Brooks has expressed his enthusiasm for working with Courtney Hope again, who portrays Sally. He mentioned that he loves Courtney's talent and her willingness to improvise and engage in banter during scenes. When asked about the possibility of working with her again, Brooks playfully responded, "Hellooooo, I'm here to mess things up!" It's clear that he is excited about the prospect.

Brooks believes that Sally and Wyatt came closest to recapturing the connection he once had with Hope, played by Kim Matula. If Wyatt were to make a list, Sally would be right at the top. Therefore, he would jump at any chance to work with Courtney again, on either show!

It seems that Brooks is fully onboard with taking his Bold & Beautiful character to Young & Restless if the opportunity arises. Perhaps discussions have already taken place behind the scenes. Only time will tell if we'll see Wyatt making his mark in Genoa City alongside Sally. Fans are certainly eager for it to happen!
