Jodie Foster, renowned actress at 61, recently shared insights into her parenting journey while raising her sons, Christopher “Kit” Bernard, 22, and Charles Bernard, 25. In a candid conversation on The View, Foster revealed her deliberate decision not to disclose her acting career to her children during their formative years.

"I don’t know why, I guess I just didn’t want them to know me that way," Foster explained to the panel, expressing her desire for her sons to see her primarily as their mom rather than a Hollywood figure. "I accepted that them ought to know me as their mom and the person who vanished to work and stuff. I basically didn't keep up with that they ought to be jumbled about how I made a decent living."

Foster recounted a humorous incident from her son's early years when, at the age of three, he accompanied her to a film set. To maintain the mystery, she bought him a plastic tool belt and introduced him to the various sets, leading to an amusing misunderstanding. "He thought I was an advancement worker for a surprisingly long time. He thought I did construction," she chuckled.

Now that her sons are adults, Foster shared that while they take pride in her accomplishments, they don't actively seek out her movies. She communicated, "She mentioned that they show no interest in watching my films nearby." However, she noted that they might watch True Detective as they are currently intrigued by the series. Foster acknowledged that there are a few films she would avoid showing them, anticipating potential teasing.
